PRODUCT DESCRIPTION: Rapid test for Fish is a qualitative immunochromatographic test, in strip format, to detect fish proteins using a combination of antibodies that detects a common antigen in all vertebrate fish. The cartilaginous fishes (shark and sturgeons) can be also detected but with less sensitivity. Considering fish proteins is one of the main responsible of food allergic reactions, this target can be use as an indicator of presence of fish proteins in food, rinse water and working surfaces. The test is based on the detection of an antigen present in fish muscle, which reacts with a specific antibody coated to red particles in the strip. The appearance of two red lines, on the strip test is a positive result.
